# Musely

The widest range we have assessed, and the widest spread of quality inside it — from the first product we recommended to two we have told people to avoid. The formulas are frequently good. The concentrations are almost never on the page you buy from.

## Verdict

Musely is a genuinely capable operation and the evidence for that is inside its own catalogue. The Anti-Aging Cream was the first product in this register we recommended: three actives, all correctly dosed, with a published three-step titration ladder from 0.025% to 0.1% tretinoin. The Spot Pill states a dose and duration on the page that match the network meta-analysis optimum exactly. The KP Cream's Clear formula is textbook. These are not accidents.

Which makes the rest harder to explain rather than easier. The same compounding operation puts tretinoin at 0.001% in an eye serum and 0.01% in a body cream, sells hydroquinone at 12% for genital application, and dispenses a Category X teratogen in a pill marketed to women. The capability is demonstrably there. Where a formula falls short, it is a decision.

The consistent structural problem is disclosure placement. Concentrations exist and are published — in help-centre articles, not on the product pages where people decide. Several pages list the union of every variant's actives as though they arrive in one tube. And every product headlines a day-30 self-report figure, some of which contradict the same page's own stated timeline.

Read a Musely product page as an index rather than a specification. The real document is in the support centre, and it is usually worth finding.

## Patterns in the reviewed range

### 01 — Tretinoin spans a hundredfold across one catalogue

We found tretinoin at 0.001%, 0.01%, 0.015%, 0.025%, 0.05%, 0.07% and 0.1% across seven products from the same pharmacy. The trial range begins at 0.025%. Four of those seven sit below it, and the eye serum sits one hundred times below the company's own strongest formula while its page advertises tretinoin as up to twenty times more potent than retinol.

### 02 — The concentration is never on the page you buy from

With one exception — the Spot Pill, which states 250 mg three times daily for twelve weeks on the product page — every concentration we cite in these reviews came from a help-centre article about formula variants. The information exists and is well organised. It is simply not where the purchasing decision happens.

### 03 — Product pages list the union of every variant

The KP Cream page names six actives across three formulas. The Spot Peel names eight across a five-active formula. The Private Cream names three where four formulas exist, one of them hydroquinone-free. The Eye Serum names eight, including a vitamin C that appears in neither published formula. In each case the page implies a product that does not exist.

### 04 — Every headline figure is an uncontrolled self-report

74%, 79%, 80%, 81%, 88%, 90%, 91% and 57%, all measured at day 30, all self-assessed by paying customers with no control arm and no blinding. Several contradict the same page's own timeline: 91% by day 30 for a retinoid the page says takes six to eight weeks; 90% by day 30 for a twelve-week oral course; 57% by day 30 for hair, when the known day-30 experience is increased shedding.

### 05 — Courses sold as subscriptions

High-strength hydroquinone, a topical corticosteroid, a topical antibiotic, a twelve-week oral course and a retinoid — all sold on rolling monthly billing. Each of those is conventionally time-limited and reassessed. A subscription's default behaviour is continuation; the default requirement of these drugs is a stop.

### 06 — Contraindications go unmentioned where they matter most

The Spot Pill does not mention that tranexamic acid should not be combined with hormonal contraceptives — while combined contraceptives are a leading trigger for the melasma it treats. The Hair Pill contains dutasteride, contraindicated in women of childbearing potential, with no pregnancy warning found on a page sold exclusively to women.

### 07 — Container size is never published

Not on any of the nine products. Cost per application is therefore not computable anywhere in the range, which is why the value criterion scores poorly across the board even where the monthly price is fair.

## Credit where it is due

- The Anti-Aging Cream was the first product we recommended in this register — correctly dosed at every tier, with a real titration ladder.
- The Spot Pill states a dose and duration matching the network meta-analysis optimum, on the product page.
- Packaging competence is real: opaque airless pumps for oxidisers, and a deliberate antioxidant system of sodium bisulfite, BHT and ascorbic acid in the hydroquinone products.
- Formula variants are published and well organised, even if in the wrong place.
- Hydroquinone-free and retinoid-free alternatives exist across several ranges for people who need them.
- Prescription gating is appropriate — these are genuinely compounded prescription drugs, not cosmetics wearing a prescription coat.
- Side effects are disclosed on several product pages, which is more than some competitors manage.
