## 1 — Not medical advice

Everything published here is general information and opinion about consumer cosmetic products. It is not medical advice, it does not establish a clinician–patient relationship, and it is not a substitute for a consultation with a qualified dermatologist, pharmacist or doctor.

Nothing here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

## 2 — Speak to a professional first

- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding — particularly regarding retinoids.
- If you have an active skin condition, including eczema, rosacea, perioral dermatitis or acne under treatment.
- If you are using prescription topicals or oral isotretinoin.
- If you have a known allergy or have previously reacted to a cosmetic ingredient.
- Before starting any product on broken, sunburnt or recently treated skin.

## 3 — Individual results vary

Effect sizes reported here are medians drawn from panel testing and published literature. They describe a group, not you. Genetics, cumulative UV exposure, climate, medication, hormonal status and the rest of your routine all move the result.

A figure with a reference number attached describes the record cited, under the conditions of that record. It is not a promise about a product.

## 4 — Stop if it reacts

Discontinue use and seek advice if you experience persistent burning, swelling, blistering, spreading redness or any reaction that does not settle within a few days. Stinging on intact skin is not normal and is not a sign that something is working.

## 5 — Accuracy and currency

Formulations change without notice and often without a change to the packaging. A review describes the formulation we tested, on the date printed on it. Always read the current ingredient list on the product you actually buy.
