# L-15 — Online prescription skincare companies: compare the route to care

Compare clinical visits, membership services, custom prescriptions and clinician-initiated compounding. The expanded directory connects company terms to the exact product, follow-up and cost questions that come next.

The most useful first question about an online skincare company is what its price buys. A consultation may end in a prescription filled elsewhere. A subscription may combine clinical access and a recurring cream shipment. A compounding platform may assume you already have a prescriber. Those models create different costs and different follow-up responsibilities, even when each website mentions tretinoin.

## A visit with a separate pharmacy decision

Miiskin, DocBright, DermatologistOnCall, SkyMD and Walgreens each provide routes to clinical assessment with pharmacy prescribing. Their terms differ on clinician selection, geographic eligibility, follow-up and billing. Read the individual records rather than assuming that a shared ability to send a prescription makes the services interchangeable.

**COMPARE CONSULTATION SERVICES**

- [R-57 Miiskin Online Dermatology](/reviews/miiskin-online-dermatology-review) — CONDITIONAL 80/100 — Independent dermatology access with conventional and optional compounded routes.
- [R-60 DocBright Online Dermatology](/reviews/docbright-online-dermatology-review) — CONDITIONAL 85/100 — Standard and priority visits with published follow-up terms.
- [R-61 DermatologistOnCall Online Dermatology Visit](/reviews/dermatologistoncall-online-visit-review) — CONDITIONAL 80/100 — One condition per visit and deliberate provider selection.
- [R-62 SkyMD Online Dermatology](/reviews/skymd-online-dermatology-review) — CONDITIONAL 80/100 — Insurance and cash-pay estimates; verify network status.
- [R-58 Walgreens Virtual Tretinoin Consultation](/reviews/walgreens-virtual-tretinoin-review) — CONDITIONAL 75/100 — Selected-state access through a doctor or nurse practitioner.

## A manufactured tube with a dispensing offer

RedBox Rx publishes a tretinoin cream quantity and multi-month bill, with a consultation discount linked to its pharmacy. Strut's tretinoin FAQ also describes a manufactured tube, although its pricing page contains a conflict that needs resolving. A manufactured product can still be dispensed through a service with recurring billing. Formulation type and payment model are separate attributes.

**COMPARE MANUFACTURED-TUBE ROUTES**

- [R-59 RedBox Rx Tretinoin Cream](/reviews/redbox-rx-tretinoin-review) — CONDITIONAL 85/100 — Read the shipment charge and the pharmacy-dependent visit fee.
- [R-65 Strut Health Tretinoin Cream](/reviews/strut-tretinoin-cream-review) — CAUTION 40/100 — Confirm the inconsistent price before buying.
- [R-43 Nurx Prescription Skincare](/reviews/nurx-prescription-skincare-review) — CONDITIONAL 74/100 — Existing service coverage for comparison; check its own review date.

## A custom cream or a clinician's compound

Hims and Hers have separately documented custom anti-aging offerings. Strut's melasma and rosacea options are compounded, while Skin Medicinals supports prescribing and dispensing through independent professionals. The FDA distinction is relevant: a compound does not undergo the same premarket review as an approved finished drug. It may meet a clinical need, but customization alone is not a comparative trial result.

**COMPARE COMPOUNDED OPTIONS**

- [R-63 Hims Custom Anti-Aging Cream](/reviews/hims-custom-anti-aging-cream-review) — CONDITIONAL 65/100 — Starting price, minimum commitment and individual-dose questions.
- [R-64 Hers Anti-Aging Rx Cream](/reviews/hers-anti-aging-rx-cream-review) — CONDITIONAL 75/100 — Published concentration ceilings and an unverified current quote.
- [R-66 Strut Health Melasma Formula](/reviews/strut-melasma-formula-review) — CAUTION 45/100 — Course planning and product-page consistency.
- [R-67 Strut Health Rosacea Formula](/reviews/strut-rosacea-formula-review) — CAUTION 45/100 — A menu of possible ingredients for different symptoms.
- [R-68 Skin Medicinals Compounded Rosacea Treatment](/reviews/skin-medicinals-rosacea-review) — CONDITIONAL 60/100 — A prescriber-initiated route rather than an included new-patient visit.

## Compare on the same questions

- Who will assess the condition, and can you verify that clinician's credentials and availability?
- What exact treatment, strength, vehicle and quantity would be dispensed?
- Which costs cover the visit, medicine, shipping, membership and future review?
- When does included messaging end, and who handles a problem after it ends?
- What happens if the concern needs an examination or procedure in person?

The highest partial score is not automatically the right provider. The new records score public disclosure only, with 15% coverage of the site's product model. No patient encounters, texture tests or treatment outcomes were measured. Use the scores to inspect documentation and the prose to understand fit; do not read them as a league table of medical quality.

## How this expansion was researched

Tinyfish searches identified candidates and their primary pages; company product pages and FAQs were then checked on 13 September 2026. Prices retain their qualifiers and unknowns remain unknown. These ten additions extend the register rather than form an exhaustive list. Earlier profiles such as Agency, Dermatica, Musely, Curology and Nurx retain their own review dates.

## More care routes, and what makes them different

The register now includes PlushCare, Amazon One Medical and MDLIVE. They add three distinct comparison questions: whether a membership is useful, which current on-demand care offer applies, and whether an existing health-plan benefit covers a dermatology visit. None of those questions is answered by the price of a cream alone.

**ADDITIONAL CLINICAL ACCESS**

- [R-69 PlushCare Tretinoin Consultation](/reviews/plushcare-tretinoin-review) — CONDITIONAL 75/100 — Membership, visit and pharmacy costs are separate.
- [R-70 Amazon One Medical Anti-Aging Skin Care](/reviews/amazon-one-medical-skincare-review) — CONDITIONAL 65/100 — Verify today's encounter terms rather than an older promotion.
- [R-71 MDLIVE Online Dermatology](/reviews/mdlive-dermatology-review) — CONDITIONAL 85/100 — A benefit-dependent visit with a defined scope and messaging window.

## From company selection to a named prescription

Two new custom-formula records and two approved combination records help with the next decision. A company offers access or dispensing; a medicine has its own ingredients, indication and handling requirements. Keep those levels separate so a convenient consultation does not become an unsupported endorsement of whichever treatment appears in the menu.

**IDENTIFY THE ACTUAL TREATMENT**

- [R-72 Curology Custom Formula Rx](/reviews/curology-custom-formula-rx-review) — CONDITIONAL 75/100 — A selected acne formula, including questions if an antibiotic is prescribed.
- [R-73 Skin Medicinals Anti-Aging Compounds](/reviews/skin-medicinals-anti-aging-review) — CONDITIONAL 65/100 — A clinician-initiated compound with quantity and care costs to confirm.
- [R-74 Bausch Health CABTREO Gel](/reviews/cabtreo-acne-gel-review) — CONDITIONAL 95/100 — A fixed approved acne combination.
- [R-75 Mayne Pharma TWYNEO Cream](/reviews/twyneo-tretinoin-benzoyl-peroxide-review) — CONDITIONAL 80/100 — An antibiotic-free finished acne combination.
