What this
is

30+/SKIN reviews skincare for people over thirty, and publishes the reasoning the way a datasheet publishes a specification — concentration, working pH, the layer the molecule reaches, the measured effect, and the record it came from.

The category runs on adjectives. Almost every product page you will read today names an active without saying how much of it is in the bottle, quotes a percentage without saying what design produced it, and shows a photograph taken under better lighting than the first one. None of that is illegal and most of it is not even dishonest. It is just useless for deciding what to buy.

So the format here is deliberately dry. Numbers with units. Claims with reference numbers that resolve to a register you can read. Scores against weights that were published before the product was opened. And a standing list of what we left out of every assessment and why.

Where we have not tested something ourselves, the review says so on its face and the criteria that need a panel are left blank rather than filled in with a guess.

How this is paid for

AFFILIATE COMMISSION

Affiliate commission. If you follow a link from a review to a retailer and buy something, the retailer may pay us a share. The price you pay is the same either way.

This is the most common funding model in this category and it is also the one with the most obvious conflict built into it: the site earns more when it recommends more. The structural answer is to fix the order of operations. Scores are completed and signed off before any commercial link is attached to a page, and the scoring weights are published in advance so a result cannot be reverse-engineered by moving them.

It is not a perfect answer. It is a checkable one, which is better than a promise.

PLACEHOLDER RECORDS

The contributor records above are structural placeholders. A review site that will not name its reviewers has no business asking anyone to trust its scores — fill these in with real names, real credentials and real declared interests before launch, or remove the section.
