The brand verdict
One product assessed, and it contains the best single piece of design thinking in this register. Every other topical here — including the FDA-approved ones from Galderma, Bausch Health and Sun Pharmaceutical — asks the patient to judge a pea-sized amount from a squeezable tube. That is a fivefold range of applied dose across a population, and most retinoid irritation is a dose problem before it is a molecule problem. The Daily Doser removes the variable mechanically.
The disclosure of what can be in it is above average for a compounder. The full seven-active pool is published — tretinoin, clindamycin, niacinamide, metronidazole, hydroquinone, hydrocortisone, azelaic acid — with accurate, restrained descriptions of each, including an admission that metronidazole's mechanism is unknown and a correct note that clindamycin should be combined with other agents to limit resistance. Both base creams are published to INCI, with the right antioxidant systems declared: BHT with tretinoin, ascorbic acid and sodium metabisulfite with hydroquinone.
What you cannot know is your own formula. The support centre states that the prescribed treatment cannot be disclosed before a prescriber has reviewed the consultation, so the two decisions a buyer makes — whether to join and what to pay — are both taken without the specification. Published customer plans show tretinoin from 0.006% to 0.05%: the top of that range is well evidenced, and the bottom is roughly a quarter of the lowest concentration any trial has tested.
Two of the seven actives are antibiotics and one is a corticosteroid, all dispensed monthly with no stated review point. The company writes the first half of the antibiotic stewardship argument on its own ingredient page and does not finish it. A monthly dispenser arriving automatically is the format least likely to prompt anyone to ask whether the course should have ended.

Dose control by mechanism rather than instruction
One metered dose per evening, dispensed by twist and click. Nothing else in this register — manufactured or compounded — attempts it. It is the most useful design decision we have found in a compounded product, and it addresses a variable the pharmaceutical industry has been content to leave to the patient's thumb.

An instrument without units
The per-dose volume is published nowhere. Alloy's rosacea cream publishes a 0.3 ml actuator and no frequency; Skin + Me publishes a frequency and no volume. Between two companies the whole number exists, and neither has printed it.

The ingredient page is unusually honest
Metronidazole's mechanism described as unknown. Clindamycin flagged as needing combination to limit resistance. Hydroquinone described accurately, including that its strongest evidence is in triple therapy. Base creams published to full INCI with the correct antioxidant systems for each active. This is not marketing copy; someone who understands formulation wrote it.

The specification arrives after the payment
'We're unable to let you know what you'll be prescribed before your Prescriber has reviewed your consultation.' Defensible as a regulatory position, and it still means the concentrations — the thing that determines whether the product can work — are not available at the point of decision.

Two antibiotics and a steroid on rolling monthly supply
Clindamycin, metronidazole and hydrocortisone are all in the pool and none has a stated duration or review point on any route. The approved product built on the same hydroquinone-tretinoin-steroid logic is licensed short-term only, and says so in its own labelling.
