Honeydew
The first company in this register to lead a product page with a teratogenicity warning and to disclose its own off-label prescribing unprompted. It sells that treatment in four-month blocks and states, on the same page, that the course runs eighteen to twenty-four months.
MODEL
Membership-funded dermatology care. Providers prescribe standard drugs dispensed by outside pharmacies; the membership buys the consultation, monitoring, labs and programme handling.
The brand verdict
One product assessed, so this is a note rather than a pattern analysis — but it is a note worth writing, because Honeydew inverts the failure the other four brands share. Every other company here sells a compounded formula and withholds something about it. Honeydew sells access to a prescriber and withholds almost nothing about the drug: the pregnancy warning is at the top of the page in the regulator's own language, the off-label status of low-dose isotretinoin is volunteered, the FDA risk programme is explained correctly, the lab panel is named, the relapse rate is published with its risk factors, and the mental-health question is answered without either dismissing or sensationalising it.
The business model is a real part of why. Honeydew is not selling a formula whose composition is its commercial secret; it is selling monitoring around a generic drug. Disclosure costs it nothing and monitoring is the product. That does not make the disclosure less valuable to a buyer — but it does explain why a company can be this open and still be selling something.
The clinical thinking is sound where it counts. Low-dose isotretinoin works because relapse tracks cumulative dose rather than daily dose, and Honeydew has built the product on that variable, published calculators for it, and named a sub-target cumulative dose as a relapse risk in its own FAQ.
What is weak is everything commercial. The membership is sold in four-month blocks against an eighteen-to-twenty-four month course. Four different prices appear across two pages, two of them describing the same annual plan and differing by a factor of two. The efficacy percentages resolve to no named study. And unfinished template placeholder text is live on both pages. The medicine is careful; the shop around it is not.
- The only product page in this register to lead with a teratogenicity warning, in the FDA's own boxed-warning language.
- Volunteers that the regimen it sells is off-label and not FDA-approved at that dose, on the page selling it.
- Describes the iPLEDGE REMS accurately: universal registration, monthly pregnancy testing and two forms of contraception where applicable, monthly renewal before dispensing.
- Names the monitoring panel — baseline and monthly lipids, ALT/AST, complete blood count — and coordinates the orders.
- Built on cumulative dose, the variable the relapse evidence actually keys on, with public calculators for it.
- Publishes relapse rates and their risk factors rather than avoiding the question.
- Handles the isotretinoin mental-health question with balance and accuracy, and writes mood monitoring into the care plan.
- Discloses the denominator on its satisfaction survey — n of 80 over four months — which no Musely percentage does.
- Names the physicians who write its clinical content.
- Prescription gating and monitoring are the product rather than an obstacle to it.

Low Dose Accutane
FOUR-MONTH MEMBERSHIPThe first page here to lead with a teratogenicity warning in the regulator's own words, disclose its own off-label status unprompted, and explain the FDA risk programme it operates under. It is also a four-month membership for a course the same page says runs eighteen to twenty-four months.
CONDITIONAL$57 PER MONTH
What repeats across the range
These are the findings a single review cannot make. Each one appears in more than one product, and each is drawn from the reviews above rather than from an impression of the brand.
- 01
The safety copy is where it should be, and it is first
The isotretinoin pregnancy warning appears at the top of the product page in FDA boxed-warning language, followed immediately by a notice that low-dose use is off-label and unapproved by the agency. Agency is the only other brand here that warns about pregnancy on a product page and we credited it for that; this is the first to put the warning above the fold in the regulator's own wording, and the first anywhere in the register to volunteer a weakness in its own commercial proposition on the page selling it.
- 02
The billing period is not the treatment period
The page is titled and priced as a four-month membership. The same page states twice that a low-dose course runs eighteen to twenty-four months or longer. Four months is between a fifth and a sixth of the course, and stopping before the cumulative dose target is the relapse risk factor the page itself names. Nothing said is untrue; the framing sets the commitment at a fraction of the treatment.
- 03
Four prices, and two of them describe the same plan
$64 a month monthly, $57 a month on the four-month plan, '$50/month (billed annually)' stated three times in the product FAQ, and $25 a month billed $299 a year on the pricing page. The last two are both the annual plan and differ by a factor of two. The pricing page also lists the Accutane and Basic memberships at an identical price directly beneath a line explaining that Accutane patients require added monitoring.
- 04
Accurate figures that resolve to nothing
85% long-term clearance, 90% inflammatory reduction, 80% remission, 15% needing a second course — all footnoted only as 'clinical studies of isotretinoin'. The numbers are broadly consistent with the literature, which is more than most claims we assess, but none is traceable, and all derive from standard-dose cohorts while appearing on a low-dose page. The separate satisfaction figure is handled better, with an n of 80 and a stated window.
- 05
Unfinished template text on a page selling a teratogen
'This is some text inside of a div block.' appears twice on the product page; 'save XX%' twice on the pricing page. Trivial in isolation, and out of keeping with a page that gets the boxed warning, the REMS description and the lab panel right.
Disclosure scorecard
Not what is in the product — what the company publishes about it, and where. “Findable” means the concentration exists somewhere, such as a help-centre article, rather than on the page you buy from.
